Here is another example of an organization migrating to remote/flexible working. In this case an entire government ministry.
In this piece discussing Oman's The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s decision to allow flexible work entitled Thumbs up for telework David Solomon says:
“This brings with it a new kind of freedom where an entire office is a portable commodity that can be carried on a laptop or tablet or inside the phone. The office is everywhere and anywhere.”
My prediction: by 2020 this way of working will have become the norm, at least in progressive modern organisations.
The gateway to this work freedom? A well designed digital workplace, a trustworthy team, and a 21st Century managment style.
