I'm the founder of FutureWork IQ where I spend my time assisting businesses to improve their climate literacy so as to understand the projected impacts from the expanding climate crisis and how to adapt their workplaces in the face of these impacts.

Yesterday I posted this re how there is a strong desire to return to “normal” as vaccines allow us to see an end to the pandemic.

But how that desire to return to “how things were” is not taking into account what we need to do next. Prevent going beyond 2°C of global warming (which will already be catastrophic if we reach that marker)

Now the UN’s Global Recovery Directory is tracking how governments are planning to recover and what polices are currently in place to do so.

Not making progress

Take a careful look at the graphic. Can you see how the 50 leading economies are doing with regard to recovering keeping with a firm focus on our next global challenge in mind – the long-term reduction of greenhouse gases?

We are so off track.

What is it going to take? A climate catastrophe of covid proportions or worse?
