I'm the founder of FutureWork IQ where I spend my time assisting businesses to improve their climate literacy so as to understand the projected impacts from the expanding climate crisis and how to adapt their workplaces in the face of these impacts.

This report from WRI shows that Commercial buildings (6.6%) and Transportation (11.9%) collectively make up 18,5% of global emissions.

This decade we have to slash emissions by 45% to avoid catastrophic global consequences. We have to the technology AND know-how to immediately and radically reduce building and transportation emissions.

1) Switch commercial buildings to run on renewable energy.
2) While we wait for electric vehicles to become the norm, hundreds of millions of knowledge workers can immediately work from home slashing the need for daily office commutes.
3) Flying for meetings and events can be radically reduced by meeting and presenting online where alternative clean energy transportation is not available.

There are really no excuses anymore NOT to take these steps in the face of the unfolding climate crisis. Responsible leadership teams will push their companies in this direction.
