I'm the founder of FutureWork IQ where I spend my time assisting businesses to design digital workplaces or “offices in the cloud.” These environments enable companies to allow flexible and remote working for their teams. I also teach the digital literacy, fluency, communication and collaboration skills needed to work in these modern technology-rich workplaces.

This is the question we are asked most often by those forced into remote working by the pandemic and who are experiencing a fraying culture.

The answer is intentionally.

Now, the teams that have been working remotely for decades have mastered the art and in many cases have documented their best practices.

But I find the Hopin experience fascinating because essentially they are new at this having been founded in 2019 and having grown dramatically during 2020/21.

They decided at the outset to be a remote-first company and using the established remote work best practices have applied it to their unique business.

Here is a great look Here is a great look at how they intentionally build and maintain their culture despite being office-less.
