The State of California has what they call a Statewide telework dashboard
The dashboard allows them to track the impact of remote working on all 15,004 staff, of which 11,613 are eligible to work from anywhere.
Of the number eligible to work remotely 75.6% or 8,774 are doing so full time.
They also track weekly savings in time, fuel costs and carbon emissions.
Carbon emissions are of particular interest as our next major global challenge is to find ways to drastically cut emissions. As a result of their remote work arrangements they are able to cut 620 metric tons of CO2 every week or 32,240 metric tons annually as a result of not commuting.
Every business should have a Remote Work Dashboard because this way you can measure the true impact being able to work from anywhere has on your operations.
When you look at the data, there is no question that being able to work from anywhere has massive advantages.
Which of their metrics jumps out at you?
