Peter du ToitI'm the founder of FutureWork IQ where I spend my time assisting businesses to design digital workplaces or “offices in the cloud.” These environments enable companies to allow flexible and remote working for their teams. I also teach the digital literacy, fluency, communication and collaboration skills needed to work in these modern technology-rich workplaces.

Although US focused, this report is a “canary in the coal mine” for the rapidly changing world of work. Nearly 40% of US jobs are in occupations that are likely to shrink or be cut by 2030.

“The coming wave of automation will affect some of the largest occupational categories in the US economy, such as office support, food service, production work, and customer service and retail sales.”

The report concludes:

“All Americans will need to cultivate new skills to remain relevant in a more digital and knowledge-intensive economy.”
