I'm the founder of FutureWork IQ where I spend my time assisting businesses to improve their climate literacy so as to understand the projected impacts from the expanding climate crisis and how to adapt their workplaces in the face of these impacts.

As new roles emerge inside modern businesses so does the need for the skills to fulfill those roles.

So, for example, at the moment there is a high demand for data analysts and data scientists. Also there is a high demand for Digital Literacy & Fluency (not to be confused with Computer Literacy)

A new skill is emerging and it’s called Carbon Literacy, which is defined as “the knowledge and capacity required to create a positive shift in how mankind lives, works and behaves in response to climate change.” (Definition Source: Carbon Literacy Wikipedia)

In the next decade we are going to see radical moves by governments as they attempt to decouple their economies from fossil fuels. This is already happening in the EU and elsewhere.

The skill to help individuals and businesses to do so is going to rise exponentially and Carbon Literacy training is going to become a requirement.
