I'm the founder of FutureWork IQ where I spend my time assisting businesses to improve their climate literacy so as to understand the projected impacts from the expanding climate crisis and how to adapt their workplaces in the face of these impacts.

Do you remember the experiment with the flea that grew accustomed to the lid on the jar, so much so that when it was lifted it kept jumping just below where the lid used to be? Essentially staying trapped in the now lidless jar?

This is what the current decision to do “hybrid working” reminds me of. The lid of the office has been removed but individuals continue to be tied to it, because well they have grown accustomed to its limitations.

I wonder how long it will take before organizations will understand the true freedom of being able to work from anywhere?

The team at Forrester predict only 10% will.

What do you predict?
