I'm the founder of FutureWork IQ where I spend my time assisting businesses to design digital workplaces or “offices in the cloud.” These environments enable companies to allow flexible and remote working for their teams. I also teach the digital literacy, fluency, communication and collaboration skills needed to work in these modern technology-rich workplaces.

The following should all be considered in detail:

🔲 A well designed “office in the cloud” which replicates how your team works in person. Note: there is no one-size-fits all. Your digital workplace is unique to you.

🔲 A leadership team that can be visible virtually. Just as visible as walking around a physical office, interacting with staff daily only doing so digitally.

🔲 A culture that prioritizes output over physical presence (i.e. a results only work environment.)

🔲 A living flexible/remote working “operations” manual. Very similar to the GitLab Handbook.

🔲 A team where every team member has the necessary virtual work skills to work efficiently in a technology rich environment. (i.e. be digitally literate & fluent.)
