We know there is a direct link between these two pictures

“The global aviation industry produces around 2% of all human-induced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Aviation is responsible for 12% of CO2 emissions from all transports sources, compared to 74% from road transport.” (Source: Air Transport Action Group)

Last year this was the projected aviation trajectory “Airlines’ CO2 emissions rising up to 70% faster than predicted."

We now know, as a result of Covid that we can dramatically impact emissions emanating from transportation by doing two simple things:

1) Adopting remote work wherever we can and

2) Meeting virtually instead of flying

Being climate conscious and carbon literate are essential as we face our next very serious global challenge.

Changing permanently to new ways of working is no longer an option as face the climate emergency head on.
