I'm the founder of FutureWork IQ where I spend my time assisting businesses to design digital workplaces or “offices in the cloud.” These environments enable companies to allow flexible and remote working for their teams. I also teach the digital literacy, fluency, communication and collaboration skills needed to work in these modern technology-rich workplaces.

flight carbon emissions

“The global aviation industry produces around 2% of all human-induced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Aviation is responsible for 12% of CO2 emissions from all transports sources, compared to 74% from road transport.” (Source: Air Transport Action Group)

Last year this was the projected aviation trajectory “Airlines’ CO2 emissions rising up to 70% faster than predicted.”

We now know, as a result of Covid that we can dramatically impact emissions emanating from transportation by doing two simple things:

1) Adopting remote work wherever we can and
2) Meeting virtually instead of flying

Being climate-conscious and carbon literate are essential as we face our next very serious global challenge.

Changing permanently to new ways of working is no longer an option as we face the climate emergency head-on.
