Work-from-anywhere prerequisite

A team must possess the skill to communicate and collaborate at distance as effectively as if they were sitting around a table in-person. It must be that seamless.

This skill is often referred to as Digital Literacy & Fluency. (Not to be confused with Computer Literacy)

More specifically this requires the ability to work-out-loud digitally, effectively using all the digital communication channels that are available to you:

The written word
Images (often marked up)
Audio (sync & async)
Video (sync & async)

How skilled is your team at working-out-loud in your well designed digital workplace — aka office-in-the-cloud?

NOTE: You will know some upskilling needs to be done if you hear your team say “It’s just easier to meet and work in-person.”
